This original piece features a palette of warm neutrals - bleeding into the layered hemp, the pools of walnut, camel and chestnut give it a sense of depth and sets a moody scene.
Once used for screen-printing her 'Padma' design onto pillows, Chanee layered hemp fabric over the mesh on the back of the aluminum framed screen and then painted it like a proper canvas. Flip it over to see the red hand-painted 'Padma' design on the mesh and the ink deposits. Two pieces of art made almost 10 years apart.
